Join National Arts Club 2024 Artist Fellow and pianist Eunbi Kim on Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. in our lower galleries for an introduction to “Deep Listening,” a practice of sonic awareness developed by pioneering American performer and composer Pauline Oliveros. Kim will perform short solo sets of music by Domenico Scarlatti and Sophia Jani and lead the audience in a group performance of Oliveros’ “The Tuning Meditation,” a vocal improvisation for musicians and non-musicians alike. This will be followed by a discussion on ways we can listen vs. hear in our daily lives.
